Yield: Caramel Popcorn (4 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Baking sheet, baking silicone mat, sauce pan, whisk, oven
  • 8-10 cups popped popcorn
  • ½ cup vegan butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 250°F or 120°C.
  • Line baking sheet with silicone mat and spread popcorn in an even layer. Set aside.
  • In a sauce pan over medium heat, add butter, brown sugar, salt, and maple syrup.
  • Whisk until brown sugar and butter has melted about 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and the add baking soda. Continue whisking about 1-2 minutes. The mixture will start to foam once the baking soda is added.
  • Carefully pour caramel over popcorn and toss until full coated.
  • Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
