This is a classic, easy halloween recipe made vegan. Meatballs are wrapped with dough and served with ketchup, this appetizer or snack is perfect for young children or teenagers.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Roll the crescent rolls and separate into 4 rectangles with a perforation in the middle of each. Press your fingers into the perforations to seal them. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut each rectangle into 10 long pieces lengthwise.
  • Cut all the meatballs in half. Take 3 half-meatballs and wrap them together with a dough strip. Leave room for the eyeballs and try to criss-cross the strip when wrapping to give it a real mummy feel. Refer to the picture for help on this step, it's all in the styling!
  • Place each wrapped mummy on the baking sheet, pressing down a little to make the backside flatter, and bake for 12 minutes. When done, place the eyes onto the mummy using a dot of ketchup to keep it in place and serve warm.
Notes

Serve with ketchup for a bloody look.

Candy eyeballs can be purchased online or at a local craft retailer.

For a healthier option, you can use your own pizza dough recipe in place of the rolls.

We recommend cooking these until the dough is really stiff to hold the meatballs together sturdier so you don't have to use toothpicks to hold everything together. Check around 10 minutes.
