For those times when your food needs seasoning without the flavor of cumin, here's my original spice blend recipe from The How Not to Die Cookbook.

Needed Kitchenware: Spice grinder or blender
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 2 tsp ground thyme
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp mustard powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ tsp celery seeds

Directions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a spice grinder to mix well and pulverize the dried herbs. Transfer the mixture to a shaker bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Store in a cool, dry place.
