Ingredients & Directions

Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients

Yield: Salsa (8 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Oven, baking sheet, parchment paper, food processor
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 4 large roma tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 jalapeño
  • 10 sprigs cilantro
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
Recipe Directions

Directions

  • Preheat oven broiler to high. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. If you don't have a broiler, roast the tomatoes, bell pepper, and jalapeño on a flame until the peels have blistered and blackened.
  • Place the tomatoes, bell pepper and jalapeño on the baking sheet. Drizzle with the 1 teaspoon olive oil and rub it all over the vegetables by hand to coat.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil for 10-15 minutes, flipping the vegetables halfway through, until the peels have blistered and blackened.
  • Remove and discard the stems of the jalapeño. If you don't want the salsa too spicy, you can also remove and discard the seeds.
  • Transfer everything to a food processor and blend slightly. Pulse a few times only if you want a chunky salsa or blend for one minute for a smooth salsa.
  • Add lime juice, paprika and salt. Mix well and serve!
