This one is for all the mango lovers! Inspired by my latest adventure in Thailand, I had to make an easy, at home version of their most iconic Thai dessert! 🤩

Yield: Mango Sticky Rice (2 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Mixing bowl, muslin cloth, strainer that fits into a small cooking pot, small cooking pot with lid, saucepan
  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 400 g coconut milk
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 mango, sliced
  • (optional) pandan leaves
  • (optional) vanilla essence
Recipe Directions


  • Soak the glutinous rice in water for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the rice, place it in a muslin cloth, in a strainer, and rest the strainer inside of a small cooking pot. Add water to the bottom of the cooking pot. Cover the pot and steam the rice for 30 minutes until cooked and the grains puff up and stick together.
  • Add your coconut milk to a saucepan along with the milk, sugar, salt, and optional pandan leaves and vanilla.
  • Mix and simmer for 3 minutes. Set aside.
  • Once the rice is cooked, add in half the coconut sauce and mix until the rice has absorbed all the liquid.
  • To serve, slice a mango and lay it over the rice. Drizzle the remaining coconut sauce over the top.
