Needed Kitchenware: Food processor
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup plain, unsweetened vegan yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ⅛ cup red onion
  • 1 small serrano pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • (Optional) Garnish: sprouts, pomegranates, vegan feta cheese, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, and/or hazelnuts

  • Prepare the serrano pepper by cutting off the stem and discarding. Open the pepper and discard of the rind and seeds.
  • Prepare the avocado by opening and discarding of the skin and seed.
  • Add the avocados, yogurt, lime juice, garlic, onion, serrano pepper, and salt to a food processeor. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides to make sure everything gets blended smoothly.
  • Recipe is finished! Serve in a bowl as a dip or serve as a spread. Shown in photo served as a spread on dark whole grain bread garnished with fresh sprouts. If serving in a bowl as a dip, top with a lot of pomegranate kernels, chopped cilantro, and vegan feta cheese - it's very festive!
Notes

Recommendation: do not use coconut yogurt as the taste will alter the intended flavor of the appetizer.
