Homemade chipotle aioli recipe without the eggs, oil, vinegar, or processed ingredients. This recipe uses potatoes, hemp seeds, lemon juice, and spices to recreate the traditional recipe healthier.

Yield: Aioli Sauce (2 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Cooking pot, blender
  • 2 medium russet potatoes
  • ¾ cup hemp seeds
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp pink salt
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika powder
  • ¼ tsp chipotle powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
Recipe Directions


  • Fill half of a small cooking pot with water. Place on the stove. Turn the stove to high heat and bring the water to a boil.
  • While waiting for the water to come to a boil, wash, peel, and dice your russet potatoes into 1 inch cubes.
  • After the water starts boiling, put your cubed potatoes into the water. Let them boil for 10-12 minutes, until they can be pierced easily with a fork.
  • While the potatoes boil, place the rest of the ingredients into a high speed blender.
  • Once the potatoes are fully cooked, strain them from the pot and give them a quick rinse under cold, filtered water.
  • Put the cooked potatoes into the blender with the rest of the ingredients. Blend on high for 1 minute until the sauce is creamy and smooth.

If you love spice, add more chipotle powder. Just remember that a little goes a long way! 🌶

Instead of boiling the potatoes, you may also steam them.
