Ingredients & Directions

Recipe Ingredients

Yield: 8 Buffalo Bean Burgers (8 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Food processor, mixing bowl, non-stick cooking pan
  • 2 15-oz cans of chickpeas/garbanzo beans, drained, rinsed
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • ¾ cup chickpea/garbanzo bean flour
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce
  • 8 burger buns
  • 1 red onion
  • ½ cup vegan ranch
  • Romaine or butter leaf lettuce
Recipe Directions

  • In a food processor, pulse the chickpeas until chopped but not mushy. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and add the carrots, celery, chickpea flour and buffalo sauce.
  • Mix well with your hands to form a firm but moist dough. Taste and add more buffalo sauce, to taste.
  • Form into 8 patties. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the patties. Cook for 5 minutes on each side. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  • While the burgers cook, toast the buns and slice the onions thinly.
  • To serve, spread each side with ranch Dressing. Top each bun with lettuce leaves, red onion, and the chickpea burger. Place the other bun on top and enjoy!

Tips, Suggestions, Photos, & More Information

These vegan buffalo sauce chickpea bean burgers are a delicious alternative to traditional meat-based burgers. The combination of the chickpeas, carrots, and celery creates a texture that is both hearty and satisfying. The addition of buffalo sauce provides a tangy and spicy kick that really elevates the flavor profile of the burgers.

These burgers can be served on a bun with traditional burger toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and onion, but they can also be enjoyed on their own. They make for a great main course and can be paired with a variety of sides such as sweet potato fries or a green salad.

One of the best things about these burgers is their versatility. They can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for a quick and easy meal during the week. They can also be frozen and reheated for a future meal. The chickpea/garbanzo bean flour provides a gluten-free option for those with dietary restrictions, and the use of chickpeas as the base ingredient makes them a great source of protein.

These vegan buffalo sauce chickpea bean burgers are a flavorful and healthy option that will satisfy even the most carnivorous of eaters.
