Yield: 16 Cookies (8 Servings)
Needed Kitchenware: Mixing bowls, zest grater, parchment or wax paper, baking sheet, cooking rack
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 cup of black tahini
  • ¾ cup coconut sugar
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp of coconut flour
  • zest of half an orange
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup coconut butter, melted
  • zest of half an orange
Recipe Directions


  • Preheat oven to 180°C or 360°F.
  • In a small bowl, combine the ground flax with the 3 tbsp water and set aside.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the black tahini, coconut sugar, dark chocolate, coconut flour, orange zest, ginger, sea salt, and vanilla until combined. Now add the ground flax water mixture and mix thoroughly until a dough starts to form. Make small balls from the dough onto the parchment or wax paper and flatten them onto the paper.
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes. Do NOT bake any longer. The cookies will be soft but will harden as they cool.
  • In another bowl, mix the melted coconut butter and orange zest together to make the cookie icing.
  • When your cookies are done baking, let them cool for about 15 minutes and then transfer them to a cooling rack. Using a spoon, sprinkle the icing over the cookies and allow them to cool more, the icing will also firm up and harden as the cookies cool for about 15 more minutes. Enjoy!

If you can't find coconut flour, you can omit entirely without substitution.
